Paddle for Peace by Garth Schmeck

Paddle for Peace

Captain cruzin

This crazy world we live in never seems to slow down. I know most people read the paper in the morning and I think it can set the tone for the entire day. Even worse is watching the TV first thing out of bed. Isn’t our world busy enough already… we have more electronic devices to make our lives better than ever but not everyone is living better than ever. I have seen a lot of angry folks and read some angry stuff in the papers lately.

I, like most Americans, own just about every gadget and toy that TV commercials tell us we need. It can be good and bad but is it peaceful? Of all the “Toys” I have in the garage, my kayak has more power of peace than any electric, plugged-in, gas-powered, bolted together or otherwise device all put together. It can help me lose weight, clear the mind, go somewhere I have never been before, sharpen the senses, enjoy family or friends, make memories and much more. Most importantly, in a peaceful and quite manner.

So if you have been a little overwhelmed… take my advice and grab your boat, head out to your favorite water and just float, paddle, splash and cruise until your head is clear and bright. You and those around you will be glad you did!

Go play, Captain

Garth chilling out
